On walking through the front door you will find yourself standing in the midst of an architectural masterpiece, the huge courtyard of the Dar Bensouda.

Thanks to the patience of Abdellatif Aït Ben Abdallah, well-known for his work in protecting the heritage of the Marrakech medina, this Fez guest house has at last regained it’s original soul.

Every detail, simple or complex, the harmony of its proportions, the magic of it’s colours and the extraordinary marriage of the ceramic tiling with the stucco work and wood, all bear witness to the elegance and refined taste of the first owner, the saint Bensouda (who lies at rest in the Zaouia opposite the riad).

The Riad Bensouda is the ideal place for an unforgettable stay – a dream within your reach!

Each of the 18 rooms and suites is entered via a majestic door and adorned with a carved wooden ceiling, ceramic-tiled floor and an ornately plastered bathroom.

Dar Bensouda offers several communal spaces for relaxing or meeting friends and family: the large lounge with its fireplace, the spacious terrace overlooking the whole of the Fez medina and a restaurant providing refined Moroccan cuisine. And last but not least, the courtyard, with its beautiful swimming pool offering a welcome cool respite when the heat becomes too much.

It is impossible not to have a sense of total well-being in this noble residence: the hammam, with it’s warm red plaster work and aromatic plants offers the best of treatments along with the massage facility for relaxing those weary or tense muscles with essential oils.

A stay in the Fez medina would not be complete without a relaxing session in the hammam, a staple of daily life in Morocco. Bathed in a gentle heat, you will discover the benefits of natural Moroccan products – lavender or eucalyptus, clay or rose water – discover the ancient beauty rituals of the Moroccan Hammam!
